Jim Hutchison colors nanoscience green,
designing high-performance new materials that
are nontoxic and inexpensive to make. Through
discipline-spanning collaborations with his
colleagues, he’s helping develop a wide range
of applications from biomedical tools and enhanced
brain imaging agents to the next generation of
electronic and optical devices.
“The myth is that
this is somehow
a futuristic
thing, but it’s
happening right
now – right here
in Oregon.
You don’t need
to compromise
in order to go
green.”
